Maplesville Fun Day set for Saturday

The town of Maplesville will host a benefit for the Maplesville Volunteer Fire Department this Saturday, July 23.

It will take place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Maplesville Community Park and will have a car show, live music, children’s activities and vendors.

Event coordinator Christine Epperson said the idea came as a way to involve the whole community.

“Funds are really low,” she said. “Instead of sitting around, we wanted to get out and do something. We decided to try this.”

Epperson promises fun for the whole family and has announced there will be a fireworks show after the music ,which will be provided by the Last Chance Band, the Six-Mile Band and others.

She also said there will be more than 20 vendors and that the fire department will be handling concessions.

The event is open to everyone, and admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children 12 and under, and $15 for vendors. There will also be an all-day armband for rides.

For more information, contact Epperson at 334-375-1236 or Sheila Haigler, town clerk, at 334-366-4211.
