Cosmetology students visit schools, earn licenses

Three LeCroy Career Technical Center cosmetology students (above) competed in the Cosmetology Competition and the ACE competition held at Wallace Community College in Selma in March.

Students visited two cosmetology schools in April: Winonah Cosmetology School in Hoover (above) and Paul Mitchell The School Birmingham (below).

Students spent about two hours at each school, participating in various activities that each school set up, talking with current students at each school and learning about the requirements of each school.

Several students completed the necessary 1,200 credit unit hours required by the Alabama Board of Cosmetology under the instruction of Minor that successfully completed the Cosmetology Board Test.

Also, five of these young ladies have been recruited for jobs to begin their careers in cosmetology.

Students that have earned their cosmetology license (below) include: Keyla Davenport (Thorsby High School), Stacey Barnett (Isabella High School), Kaitlin Dennis (Jemison High School) and Hope Smitherman (JHS).
