Mustang Feast set for March 3

It is that time of year again for the Isabella Mustang Athletic Club to host its annual Mustang Feast on March 3.

The event is in its 23rd year and serves as the top fundraiser for the athletic program.

What makes the feast so important is that it raises money for not just a single sport but for the program as a whole.

According to Buddy Baker, booster club president, Isabella is working on a goal of building a multi-purpose facility that will house a weight room and provide a place for indoor drills for all sports.

The athletic club is partnering with the Chilton County Board of Education to help in the process involved with the project.

Roughly $45,000 is what the club has currently raised, but the group will need more funding in order to make the new facility a reality.

“We still need to bring more to the table, Baker said. “Our coaches, student-athletes and Mustang Club have worked extremely hard to put a good program together. All of our athletic programs are gaining strength and momentum.”

Tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for children in grades K-6. Children five years old or younger will get in for free.

All donations can be sent to Isabella High School. For more information, contact Baker at (205) 217-6139.
