Forecast forces CCHS, Verbena to move games

The Chilton County Tigers and Verbena Red Devils have moved up their home varsity football games one day to Thursday Oct. 8 beginning at 7 p.m.

The games were initially scheduled for Oct. 9, but have been changed due to inclement weather expected to hit the area following the landfall of Hurricane Delta.

According to the National Weather Service, the highest amount of rainfall is predicted to impact Chilton County Oct. 9 and 10, which includes a chance of thunderstorms.

In order to avoid a clash with the weather system, the schools went ahead and made the call to play a day earlier.

CCHS will host Wetumpka and Verbena is set to host Loachapoka. Both games are region contests.
