Chamber to host Holiday Crawl

The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce has come up with an initiative that combines holiday cheer and shopping local.

It is called the Shop Small Holiday Business Crawl and will take place for the first-time beginning Nov. 27 and ending Dec. 4.

The weekend after Thanksgiving has traditionally been big shopping days over the years.

To participate in the business crawl, residents will need to pick up a “Santa’s list” at the Chamber office located at 500 Fifth Ave. N in Clanton or any of the participating businesses.

The lists will become available on Nov. 27, and can also be downloaded and printed out from www.chiltonchamber.org or the Chamber’s Facebook page.

Participating businesses include Hope’s Chest Boutique and Gifts, Rustic Relics & General Store, H&M Boutique, Much A Brew About Something Coffee Shop, CBD American Shaman, Wright Drug, Willow 31, Southern Roots & The Sassy Sun, MorLyn’s Fine Jewelry & Gifts, The Boutique at Peach Park, Plain and Simple, Apple & Lo and Sadie’s Loft Boutique.

Residents will be entered to win prizes by shopping at these businesses and getting their Santa lists stamped.

The lists must be returned to one of these businesses by 5 p.m. on Dec. 4 in order to be counted.

A full list of stamps will allow a person to be entered for the grand prize drawing, which is valued at more than $1,000, while half of the boxes stamped means a chance at the second-place basket worth roughly $500. There will also be a third-place basket worth about $250.

The winners will be selected by Santa and announced through Facebook Live on Dec. 6. The time of announcement has yet to be determined.

The Chilton County Chamber has gotten creative with the promotion of its members of late, having also done the inaugural Chilton County Crow Show last month.
