The unofficial results are in for the Republican Primary runoff election held July 17.

The race for Chilton County probate judge proved to be extremely close, with Jason Calhoun edging Rex Cleckler 2,597 votes to 2,455, a difference of only 142 votes.

Calhoun received 51.41 percent of the vote to Cleckler’s 48.59.

This tally includes 19 of 20 precincts. The last remaining precinct involves any provisional ballots that will be tallied later this week.
