Chilton Medical Center welcomes new OB/GYN

Chilton Medical Center welcomes Patricia A. Sanders, M.D. to their medical staff.

Sanders, a Birmingham native, has been a practicing gynecologist for 29 years. She has been an active staff physician at Baptist Princeton Medical Center in Birmingham for the past 29 years.

She was the first black American woman to receive her pre-medical degree at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and the first to receive her medical degree from the University of South Alabama.

She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va.

Sanders will be specializing in women’s surgical services.

Her office location is 1006 Lay Dam Road Clanton, Ala. 35045.

Sanders will be open for appointments each Thursday beginning May 19, at Chilton Medical Center’s Health Access Center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
