Two men die in Saturday crash

A single-vehicle crash claimed the lives of two Chilton County men Saturday.

At approximately 7:15 p.m. on May 7, Alabama State Troopers responded to the crash that occurred on Alabama 22, approximately one-half mile south of Stanton.

The driver was identified as Thomas Daniel Sims, 27, of Plantersville and the passenger was identified as Jason Edward Lester, 32, of Plantersville.

The men were killed when the vehicle they were traveling in, a 1999 Mercury Sable, left the roadway and struck two utility poles. Both occupants were pronounced dead on the scene.

Troopers continue to investigate the accident.
