Thanks to those who helped with raptor program

Dear editor:

On Feb. 22, the Chilton County Auburn Club sponsored a program presented by the Southeastern Raptor Center. We want to compliment our Chilton County third grade students on their exemplary behavior. Each and every one conducted himself or herself as a lady or a gentleman. They paid attention, participated without being rowdy and seemed to enjoy the program.

We want to commend the teachers and administrators who accompanied these students. They were completely in charge of their students and did an outstanding job of getting them unloaded, into the building and seated. After the program they again demonstrated control of their students as they escorted them out of the building and into the buses.

We want to thank the bus drivers that gave up half their day to transport students to Clanton Middle School. They did this for very little pay, and were impressive with the professionalism they demonstrated in handling their buses in unfamiliar territory, and at the same time, were attentive to the safety of their riders.

We want to thank Mr. Hayden and the Chilton County Board of Education for allowing us to present this program to the third graders, and thank you Chilton Christian Academy for participating.

Lastly, and most of all, thank you Mr. Donny Finlayson and Clanton Middle School for allowing us to use your beautiful gymnasium. We cannot emphasize enough how accommodating Mr. Finlayson was to all those involved with the program.

Toni Miller, President, Chilton County Auburn Club
