Hammett speaks at Chamber luncheon
More than 60 people gathered Tuesday in the fellowship hall of Clanton First United Methodist Church to hear guest speaker Seth Hammett at the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce’s monthly luncheon.
Before Hammond spoke, Chamber Executive Director Mike Robertson spoke to the audience about the Peach Jam and its success, and thanked both the city of Clanton as well as the event’s sponsors for their help.
Robertson also informed the audience that there were a few more Peach Jam shirts for sale.
After Robertson, former state representative Jimmy Martin introduced Hammett. Hammett, the speaker emeritus of the Alabama House of Representatives, discussed his current position as director of the Alabama Development Office.
Hammett also spoke about how the state is trying to promote economic development by working out a strategic plan to promote new business.
After Hammett spoke, Chamber president Britt Culpepper presented Hammett with a box of pecans from Heaton Pecan Farms.
