Clanton gas station robbed

Clanton Police are looking for a suspect in the robbery of Chevron Shop ‘n’ Fill on Fourth Avenue North (Alabama 22) Saturday night.

According to reports, a white male entered the business about 8:45 p.m. dressed in all black, blue jeans and a mask carrying a knife. He then went behind the counter and took an undetermined amount of cash as well as two cartons of Marlboro Red Cigarettes. The subject then fled through the field behind the store.

Chilton County Sheriff’s Dog Tracking Team and Jemison Police officers responded to assist Clanton Police Officers with the search.

“The dog team tracked through the field to an area around Grey Street and lost the track,” Clanton Police Chief Brian Stilwell said. “A getaway car could have been parked back there, so anyone who might have seen a suspicious person or vehicle is encourage to call.”

Clanton Police Detectives are working on several leads, but any information can be helpful. Sgt. Cameron Bates can be contacted at 755-1194 ext. 315.
