Walmart Bass Tourney comes to close

Competitors get ready to weigh their fish Sunday.

The Walmart Bass Fishing League Bama Division Tournament culminated Sunday afternoon with the final weigh-in at the Clanton Walmart parking lot.

Eighty boaters and 80 co-anglers competed in the tournament, catching a combined more than 650 bass on Saturday and Sunday.

Participants and spectators gathered around the stage to learn who would take home the top prizes in the Boater and Co-Angler Divisions.

Jason Nixon of Wetumpka took first in the Boater Division, with his two-day catch weighing in at 29 pounds 1 ounce.

A good sized crowd, among them family members of the competitors, awaits the tournament's results.

Heath Daniel of Dadeville was the top Co-Angler, with his two-day catch weighing in at 19 pounds 15 ounces.

The Big Bass winner in the Boater Division from Day One was Chris Rutland of Wetumpka with a weight of 4 pounds 2 ounces.

Big Bass winner in the Co-Angler Division from Day One was Silas Kennedy III of Montgomery with a weight of 3 pounds 11 ounces.
