Jemison’s baseball team won two games at Maplesville on Saturday, while the host Red Devils split a pair of games.

Maplesville defeated Holy Spirit, 5-4, after trailing 4-0 going into the bottom of the fifth inning.

Aron Smitherman finally got MHS on the scoreboard with a one-out, bases loaded single that scored two.

The Red Devils would bat around and score all five of their runs in the frame, with a Brett Walker double accounting for two more runs and the fifth coming on a Damian Mitchell single.

Smitherman was the winning pitcher. He lasted six innings and was relieved by Zack Bush.

MHS lost to Jemison, 11-1, in five innings.

Jared White went 1-for-2 with a triple, a walk and a run scored for the Devils, but it wasn’t nearly enough.

Danny Eslinger started on the mound for Jemison and went two innings to earn the win.

The Panthers also defeated Holy Spirit, 10-0.
