Funeral services for Thomas Crayton Locke, 86, of Alexander City, will be April 10 at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home.

Dr. Joe Turner and the Rev. Bill Stinson will officiate.

Burial will follow in Hillview Memorial Park.

The family received friends on April 9 from 5-7 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.

Mr. Locke passed away on April 8 at Russell Medical Center.

He was born on April 24, 1928, in Tallapoosa County, to James Matthew Locke and Leila Mae Walls Locke.

He was a deacon for many years and a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Locke loved his family very much and was very protective of them.

He was a well known paint contractor and took pride in his work.Mr. Locke loved being outside, boating or riding his jet ski on Lake Martin and going to the cabin at Hatchett Creek.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois Adams Locke of Alexander City; daughter, Cynthia Diane Turner (John), of Alexander City; grandson, John Thomas Turner, Jr. (Tamara) of Alexander City; great-grandson, Braxton Locke Turner of Alexander City; sisters-in-law, Betty Jones of Clanton and Hilda Adams of Alexander City; brother-in-law, Jay Adams (Shirley) of Riverside; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

The family will accept flowers, or memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity.
