No serious injuries were sustained Wednesday morning after a vehicle traveling on Hwy. 22 overturned.

The driver of the vehicle, which was the only one involved in the wreck, suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized via CARE Ambulance, according to Clanton Fire Chief David Driver, whose agency responded to the incident.

Driver said CPD was dispatched to a wreck with entrapment.

“It looked worse than it was,” Driver said. “As we were pulling up, she was crawling out of the car.”

The incident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. between Blackwell Sod Farm and the LeCroy Career Technical Center.

The driver appeared to be headed east into Clanton, Driver said. The sedan left the roadway and turned over in a ditch.

Driver said the cause of the loss of control wasn’t immediately apparent.
