We want to thank everyone for attending services this Sunday.

Sunday morning services included a message from Acts 26:27-28 about looking for a few good men who want to be all they can be in the army of the Lord. We looked at passages concerning having a burden for the lost, a burden for our relatives and a burden that all would be saved. We need people who are not only wanting to serve but are willing to serve, willing to pray for that opportunity to be a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. We hope you are saved and serving the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sunday night services included a message about the difference between a foundry and a refinery. Bro. Kevin Shaw preached about how God wants to refine the hearts and minds of believers so that we become more and more like Christ. He used scriptures from Proverbs 17:3; 3:5-6, Hebrews 12:6-8, 1 Peter 4:12-13 and Isaiah 1:24 to show how God uses circumstances around us to help in this refining process.

We hope that if you are saved, you are growing closer to God through your walk in life and study of the Scriptures. In all you do, let it be to glorify God!

Pastor Jeff Carroll’s text today comes from 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 and 6:1-20. “The Body and the Spirit” was the sermon title.

God’s grace is sufficient when the tempter brings about confusion; all we have to do is turn to him. What should we be doing for God as a church? We see for the most part people are confused about why they are here, where they are going, how they are going to get there. Your earthly body will die, but your spiritual body will live forever. God allows us the freedom of making our own choices as to how we live our lives. We can do anything we want to under God, but we have to choose whether it will be for good or evil.

Agnostics believe that all there is to life is to eat, drink and be merry, nothing else. If something you do will offend or cause others to fall, do not have anything to do with it. Jesus died, and we too shall die, but God will raise us up just like he did Jesus. Jesus is where our hope comes from, the resurrection of Christ. For he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him.

Once we cross the line and divorce ourselves from God to follow our sin and evil, there will be devastating consequences for us and others in our lives. If we are in the spirit of God, we cannot live in the spirit of the flesh. Our body is here to glorify God. You cannot have the spirit of Christ while living as a Christian and have the spirit of sin. That means you are living separate to God. Picture this: We are slaves to sin. We have been caught and the penalty is death. We have seen the nails and the cross, we are to be crucified, and then Jesus comes along and says he will take our place. We become Barabbas. Jesus redeemed us and made us free instead.

Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in us, which you have from God, and you are not your own. For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power because we are members of Christ.

Are you living in the Spirit of Christ or the spirit of sin? The choice is still ultimately ours. We come to a fork in the road. One is the highway to hell; the other the highway to heaven. Which one will you choose? Wide is the path to destruction and hell. Narrow is the gate and the path to heaven. Few will go therein. What is your choice today? Jesus loves you and is just waiting for you to decide. I implore you, please do not leave it too late. Your next breath may be your last!
