Brenda Joyce Blackmon, 70, of Maplesville, passed away April 6 at UAB in Birmingham.

She was born in the Coopers Community of Chilton County on April 30, 1943, the daughter of the late Clarence Jones and the late Nina Lewis Jones.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Cummings of Maplesville; son, Chris Blackmon of Maplesville; grandchildren, Melissa Cummings, Jason Cummings, Ashley Hernandez and Krysta Blackmon; great-grandchildren, Roger Hernandez, Karina Hernandez, Alicia Hernandez, Addyson Cummings and Adaleigh Cummings; sister, Sue Lee of Leeds and sister, Ann Vinson of Birmingham.

Funeral services will be held April 9 at 11 a.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Blankenship officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow the service in Chestnut Creek Cemetery in the Coopers Community.
