McMillan said his interest in agriculture began at a young age as he was growing up in Baldwin County.

McMillan praised the efforts of Chilton County farmers and highlighted agriculture’s importance in the state.

More than 4,000 jobs and $385 million worth of economic impact can be attributed to Chilton County’s agriculture industry, said McMillan, speaking at the Clanton First United Methodist Church’s Helen Parrish Activity Center.

“These businesses are important to this state,” McMillan said.
