Martha Jane Buchanan Shaw, 94, of Anderson, S.C., widow of Harold C. “Dock” Shaw, passed away July 27 at the Rainey Hospice House.

Born on Nov. 11, 1918 in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Allen and Margaret Jane Franks Buchanan. She was a retired textile employee.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Marshall Memorial United Methodist church.

Survivors include two sons, James Allen Shaw (Mary) of Clanton and Thomas Gary Shaw of Anderson; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Betty Tate, Dorothy Hughes and Drucilla Coates and one brother, Albert Buchanan.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Jane McClellan; three sisters, Mary Hawkins, Louise Shands and Evelyn Fuller and three brothers, Leslie, Jim and Richard Buchanan.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on July 30 at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Dr. Wendell Bannister and the Rev. Charlie Brookshire.

Burial will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m., Tuesday at the mortuary, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family will be at the home of a grandson, Tommy Shaw, 119 Glenaire Road, Anderson, SC, following the service on Tuesday.
