Thought for today: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit,” Romans 15:13.

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know now whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me. If ye had know me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Believest thou not that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you, I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe in me that I am in the Father and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very works sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also and greater works than these shall he doe; because I go unto my Father. Thought for the week: I’d Rather Walk by Faith

“Sometimes a lonely road I tread,

Sometimes the path is rough;

But I’d rather walk along by faith,

To me this is enough.

I’d rather walk along by faith

Though others walk by sight;

My father knows where I must go,

He’ll guide my steps aright.

I’d rather walk along by faith, no dangers lurk ahead,

And those who travel in his steps

Have naught of harm to dread.

Though others go their way by sight, and trust in lands and gold,

I’d rather walk along by faith and have his wealth untold.

Worship service at the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Jemison began with praise service with scripture, prayer and songs: The scripture was read by Perry Nunn with prayer by Pastor Dukes and Willie Mann.

Songs sun: “Like a Ship Without a Sail,” “Near the Cross,” and “I Need Thee Every Hour.”

The morning message was given by Pastor Duke with his theme:

“Power to Change”: Do we really have the power to change? A change we can believe in. it’s hard nearly impossible for some people to change on their own, because they are so use to doing things the way they have always done them. God knew this that is why he had followers of Jesus wait in Jerusalem. For the coming of the Holy Spirit. They could not change on their own, the Holy Spirit had the power to change them from the inside out. Are you ready for a change? Try Jesus. Fellowship by Pastor Dukes, deacons and congregation.
