“In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth. For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled. Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of they countenance. For all our days are passed away in thy wrath; we spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are three-score years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Who kneweth the power of thine anger?

Even according to thy fear, so if thy wrath, so teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Return, O Lord, how long? And let it repent thee concerning thy servants. O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” Psalm 90: 6-14.

Thought for the week: Life’s Mirror

“There are loyal hearts, there are spirits brave, there are souls that are souls that are pure and true; then give to the world the best you have, and the best will come back to you.

Give love, and love to your life will flow, a strength in your utmost need; have faith; and a score of hearts will show their faith in your word and deed. Give truth, and your gift will be paid in kind, and honor will honor meet, and a smile that is sweet will surely find a smile that is just as sweet. Give sorrow and pity to those who mourn; you will gather in flowers again the scattered seeds of your thoughts, though the sowing seemed but rain. For life is the mirror of king and slave-‘Tis just what we are and do; then give to the world the best you have, and the best will come back to you.”
