James Walter Polk

James Walter Polk, age 56 of Clanton, passed away on July 26, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on Sept. 27, 1955, the son of the late Walter Marcus Polk and Sara Nell Patterson Polk.

He was a mechanic.

He is survived by: son, Heath (Christin) Polk of Clanton; son, Shane (Kim) Polk of Clanton; daughter, Kayla (Blake) Smith of Dothan; grandchildren, Anabeth F. Polk, Adison C. Polk, Kirkland Polk, Karson Polk and Maeleigh Smith; mother, Sara Nell Polk of Clanton; sister, Ginger (Terry) Gray of Clanton; and brother, Bill Polk of Clanton.

He is preceded in death by his father, Buddy Polk.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 28, at 3 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Bowman officiating.

Burial will follow in Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.
