Every week, it is my goal and the goal of our design team to produce the most eye appealing paper design we can. After a number of years with Leader Publications designing our newspapers, magazines and special sections, we are moving our design hub to our in-house design team at our sister newspaper, The Shelby County Reporter.

The move will change the appearance of The Clanton Advertiser slightly and give the paper a “face lift” to enhance certain areas of it. Some examples of changes are the front page will have a slightly smaller header and teaser section, and the order in which the stories on the front page will be laid out will be a bit different. The community calendar page will be enhanced by adding a section that highlights specific events happening in Chilton County that week. The sports page will begin on the back cover of the newspaper and jump inward to page 11 to avoid the paper ending on a jump page. Other pages such as the records, opinion, religion and the schools page will still keep their normal layout and location in the weekly newspaper.

We hope this change in design helps us align better with other local newspapers’ design that we are affiliated with, and the change enhances the readership experience for our consumers, which is at the top of the priority list.
