Jemison’s Peach Queen Campground recently sold and is under new ownership. The campground was previously owned by the Dorminey family, who had lived on the property since the 1800s. They established the campground in 1974. Over the years, the property has seen many changes throughout the community including the addition of Interstate-65 at exit 219, and many famed country-music artists that performed at Central Alabama Music Park during the 1980s, which was later destroyed by fire.

The property was purchased in February by Blue Metric Group, LLC, which is a real estate firm that focuses on buying, improving and operating RV park resorts and campgrounds. The company owns and operates more than a dozen campgrounds within the southeast including Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Florida and surrounding states. Most of the properties have been purchased within the last year.

Peach Queen Campground is centered on a seven-acre private lake that is spring fed and fully stocked with bass, catfish and brim fish for fishing. Amenities such as a pool, playground, laundry, bathhouse and fenced yard for dogs are available.

There are 82 sites throughout the campground, 18 of which are pull-through with full hookups including water, sewer and electric. There are also 18 primitive tent sites with water hookups.

Tent sites are currently being renovated, and Blue Metric Group also has plans to build lakeside cabins in the near future.
