The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 20 hearings on Feb. 8, and one involved a Chilton County offender.

Scottie Allen Johnson was granted parole by the board during his hearing. Johnson completed the PTCP and the Perry County Probation/Parole Reentry Education Program (PREP). Johnson will be required to wear a GPA ankle monitor and complete a drug assessment upon his release.

Johnson was serving a 72-month consecutive sentence for Theft of Property I and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Class D charges in January 2023. Johnson served one year, two months and 24 days of the sentence before he was granted parole on Feb. 8.
