Marvin Morton was relieved of his duties as head coach of the Chilton County High School football team on Nov. 13. Morton addressed the team the day after to inform them of the news.

Morton was 8-12 during his two seasons at the helm, and 1-11 in AHSAA Class 6A Region 3, picking up the Tigers first region win (37-3 over Calera on Sept. 22) since rejoining the classification in 2020. CCHS was 1-9 and 3-7 in the two seasons in Class 6A before Morton’s tenure began in 2022.

Morton confirmed he will retain his teaching position and his position as athletic director at CCHS, but did not give any further comment.
