Chilton County High School’s Justin Godwin is this week’s athlete of the week after his performance against Marbury High School on Nov. 3. Godwin was a standout on defense for the Tigers in their regular season finale leading the team with 12 tackles and forcing a fumble.

The junior also made his impact felt on special teams with a 65-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the second half to help put the game away for CCHS.

“He is a playmaker for us, he works hard on and off the field and he was a sophomore starter for us last year, and the growth he has made from last year till now is accredited to his work ethic,” CCHS head coach Marvin Morton said. “I am glad to have him another year, and he is a good lockdown corner for us … He is a physical, long corner that you like to see in that position. He does a good job for us, and he makes an impact on offense and special teams as well.”
