A manhunt in Clanton resulted in the arrest of a suspect in the early morning of Oct. 22. The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies were called to the area of County Roads 32 and 85 in the Refuge community.

After conducting a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle, one suspect fled the vehicle on foot leading to the manhunt. The other suspect was taken into custody following the initial traffic stop.

The K9 Tracking Team were among the resources used to capture the suspect who fled by the CCSO, and he was apprehended around 3:30 a.m. the morning of Oct. 22.

“They were just trying to get away, and if there was ever a danger we would notify the public, but these two were just trying not to be caught,” Chilton County Sheriff John Shearon said.

Both suspects were juveniles, so no names or photos were provided following the arrests.
