The Alabama Cooperative Extension System of Chilton County is holding an open house on Oct. 26 at its office to change the narrative of being “the best kept secret in Chilton County.”

The open house will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Chilton County Extension office at 504 First Avenue N, Clanton. The open house will provide a tour of the facility and the Extension staff will be sharing their areas of expertise and talking with visitors about future opportunities they may be interested in.

With Extension offering educational programs such as human nutrition, diet and health, agriculture, forestry, 4-H and youth development, there is normally always something that interests people when they visit the Extension office and hear about the opportunities.

“So far this year, we have reached over 1,770 adults and impacted the lives of 2,575 youth through a variety of in-person, outreach activities,” Lucy Edwards, Chilton County Extension Coordinator, said in a press release. “We’d love the opportunity to tell you more about these events at the open house on Oct. 26.”
