Marion Community Bank broke ground on the future site of its new Clanton branch on Sept. 28 with administration, staff and local dignitaries in attendance. The new location at 312 First St. N, Clanton will be the third full-service branch in Chilton County making Marion the only financial institution in the county with three locations. Marion also has a storefront branch in Clanton as well.

“Our storefront branch in Clanton has been well received and experienced tremendous growth,” Brad Jackson, Regional President of Chilton County for Marion Community Bank, said in a press release. “In order to serve our customers in Clanton at the highest level, we felt it was important to have a full-service location with a drive through and more parking. This new facility underscores our commitment to Chilton County and our aspiration to continually enhance our service offering.”

Marion opened its inaugural branch in Maplesville in 2016 and has since expanded in Chilton County with a full-service branch in Jemison in 2018 and a storefront branch in Clanton in 2020. The new Clanton branch will have a standalone bank with a parking lot, drive-thru and all of residents’ banking needs.

“This new branch in Clanton just solidifies our bank’s commitment to Chilton County,” Guy Davis, President and CEO of Marion Community Bank, said in the press release. “Our community bank model of strong leadership, local decision making and responsive service has been well received by the Chilton County communities.  We are excited about the continued growth this branch will provide.”

The goal is to have the new Clanton branch completed by the early third quarter of 2024.

“I am very proud to have them here,” Clanton Mayor Jeff Mims said. “Everyone has to have a bank, and a local bank like this beats the larger, national banks. I am glad to see them break ground.”
