Isabella High School’s Tyler Mims was a part of the winning duo in the first 2023-24 Airport Marine School Team Trail fishing event of the season on Sept. 23 at Neely Henry Lake. Mims, along with his partner Mac Norton from Holtville High School, secured the win and the $1,000 winnings by a narrow 0.16 pounds over second place.

“The morning started out slow and we slowly put the pieces of the puzzle together to have a good day on the water,” Mims said. “Feels good to start off our senior year with a win to get things going. Could not do any of it without God and all the people around us supporting us and what we love to do.”

Chilton County High School’s Dax Lively and Brycen Hollar secured a seventh-place finish in the tournament on Neely Henry Lake to make it three Chilton County anglers in the top 10 teams.
