Gospel entertainers and vendors are preparing for Clanton’s Gospel Festival to be held Oct. 14 from 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. at Dixie Hideaway Venue.

The festival is free and will be hosted by Dixie Hideaway and presented by MCMB Productions. Special guests in the line-up include South Shelby Worship, Cavalier Independent Worship, Artist Jason Hill and DJ/MC “Cowboy”.

Various food and product vendors will be available, as well as, “Heaven Bound” Monster Truck, games and a bouncy house.

The suggestion for hosting a gospel festival in Clanton came from artist Jason Hill and friends that wanted to offer a wholesome event for the community.

“We are offering the festival because of the way society is,” said producer Larry Wallace. “There are a bunch of good kids in our community. Both of my grandkids are good kids and church goers, but in general, society needs help.”

In addition to the festival, Wallace said that Dixie Hideaway Venue has added several features to optimize use of the facility, including a pole barn with a stage and effects, which is ideal for concerts and festivals.

“I am looking forward to seeing a big crowd come out and have a good time,” said Wallace.

The event is free due to the contribution of sponsorships. Sponsorship spaces are still available, and levels range from $300 to $100.
