Jemison High School was shutout 22-0 in its AHSAA Class 5A Region 3 opener on Sept. 8 at Panther Stadium by Marbury High School.

After a stalemate in the first quarter, Marbury’s Carsyn Cobb broke off a 45-yard rushing touchdown and the Bulldogs put in the two-point conversion to go up 8-0 at halftime.

Cobb got into the end zone again midway through the third quarter, this time from three yards out and another two-point conversion double the Marbury lead at 16-0.

The Bulldogs put the final blow to Jemison late in the third quarter as Jeremyah Williams punched in a four-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 22-0 where it would end.

The Panthers have dropped back-to-back games since their emphatic opening-week win over Thorsby High School. Jemison (1-2) hopes to turn the vibes around on Sept. 15 hosting Shelby County High School for homecoming at 7 p.m. in another region matchup.
