Clanton’s Raymond Holloway of Slim’s Detailing and Eli Good of IB_Good YouTube channel put on the first annual Chilton Toyz Car Show on July 29. The show took place at Baugh Ford in Clanton and over 40 cars came out to enter the show along with tons of spectators coming out to check out the cars.

“I think it went great,” Holloway said. “We did not have preregistration, so we had no idea how many vehicles would be entering the show the day of, but we had over 40 vehicles enter the show. A lot of people came out … All and all, it was a great day.”

On the registration, Holloway had a section to put down where the competitors were coming from and how far they traveled. The car show brought out people from Selma, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Wetumpka, Montgomery, Fultondale and more.

“This event just means that the next one will be bigger, so we are looking forward to the next one,” Holloway said.

A food truck, a bounce house for the kids and door prizes were all a part of the festivities, and trophies were handed out for best of categories in the show.

Holloway is currently planning the second annual Chilton Toyz Car Meet for this upcoming winter to keep the tradition of having a car show in the summer and a car meet in the winter going. Holloway said the advertising for the car show in the winter will be out sometime in September.
