Care Net of Chilton County is setting up for its second annual Hope on the Water fundraiser on Aug. 5 at the Higgins Ferry Boat Launch. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. and will feature live music by the band Blue Denim and have food trucks onsite for hungry visitors. The event will also feature bounce houses and face painting for kids in attendance.

“Everyone can come out and have a great time,” Ashley Liveoak, executive director of Care Net of Chilton County, said. “Everyone can come by boat or car, and we are really looking forward to having a great time this last weekend before school starts.”

Liveoak said Care Net moved the event from October during football season to August this year before school in hopes of having a bigger turnout than last year’s event.

The event is free of charge, however, there will be opportunities for attendees to make donations at the event by cash, check or through an app through QR codes available.

“Any help is greatly appreciated, and needed,” Liveoak said. “This money will go to the ministry of Care Net of Chilton County and Selah’s Oasis Maternity Home we are opening soon on Oct. 1.”

Hope on the Water will be held at 11484 County Road 28, Clanton.
