The Clanton Beautification Board awarded its first yearly district beautification winners around the city of Clanton on July 15. The board selected winners’ homes and businesses who were judged the highest on landscaping, variety of color and plants, neatness of home and yard, grooming and pruning, structure and appearance, creativity and overall appearance.

Each district winner was presented a sign by the Clanton Beautification Board and members of the Clanton City Council commemorating their win. The sign will remain in their yard until next year’s beautification contest. The city of Clanton will hold one beautification contest per year going forward with winners named during the summer each year.

Clanton Beautification District Winners:

District 1: Larry and Christy Glenn — 210 Buck Circle, Clanton

District 2: Elouise Gentry — 604 Glenview Avenue, Clanton

District 3: Chris and Shellie Smith — 1907 7th Street North, Clanton

District 4: Carolyn Abercrombie — 901 1st Avenue South, Clanton

District 5: Dale Mims — 2004 County Road 18, Clanton
