Girl Scout Troop 337 of Clanton will host a Back-to-Troop meeting August 11 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Clanton Church of Christ. The event is themed “Let’s Flamingle Back-to-Troop Meeting.” The social event serves as the first official meeting after the summer break. All girls ages four to 18 are welcome to attend including new, prospective girl scouts and their mother or guardian.

During the event, a free finger food dinner will be served and the troop will discuss plans for the upcoming fiscal year. Attendees are encouraged to dress up for the “Flamingle” theme in their favorite flamingo attire or wear pink. However, dressing up for the theme is optional.

Currently serving Girl Scouts will have a vest inspection to make sure all patches are on their vests. Girls with a complete, up-to-date vest will receive a prize.

“Girl Scouts teaches how to get along with others, creates sisterhood and fosters learning opportunities such as learning how to paint, being outdoors and etiquette,” said troop leader Amy Conlee Jolley.

Amy Jolley said the event is a great opportunity for girls to invite their friends and share the experience.

“My favorite part of Girl Scouts is meeting new people and serving the community together as a troop,” said Jolley.

Cost for membership is $25 for a registration fee, a $75 Troop fee which includes patches and events, and $60 for vests. Scholarships are available as well.

Clanton Church of Christ is located at 1111 Lay Dam Road, Clanton. For more information contact Amy Conlee Jolley at girlscoutunicorns1@gmail.com or 205-294-9803.
