The Alabama Department of Pardons and Paroles held 38 hearings on July 11 and denied all 38 motions including one for a Chilton County offender.

Jacob Dean Willis, born 1977, was denied parole by the board. Willis’ mother, Judy Estes, and daughter, Amelia Willis, both spoke in favor of him being granted parole. However, the board voted to deny parole with no reset date.

Willis is currently serving a 108-month sentence for Theft of Property I stemming from a May 17, 2022 arrest. Willis’ minimum release date is set for Nov. 10, 2024. Willis has a history of charges in Chilton County dating back to March 2004 when he was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument II. Willis had six more charges against him in Chilton County from 2013-2018 before his May 2022 arrest.
