Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The months of June and July is among the busiest times of the year for the editor of The Clanton Advertiser.  With the peach festival, a Peach Living magazine and the Face & Places magazine all coming out within those months, finding story ideas can be a task in itself.

However, so far, I have not had trouble finding enough stories to fill each of those sections with great tales about locals in Chilton County and the vast number of different things they are into. It makes me think about the need for printing newspapers still in smaller communities. The need to have a printed newspaper for smaller communities like the ones across Chilton County is vital to the citizens being informed. When you pair the weekly newspaper together with the numerous special sections the Advertiser puts out, it shows a good understanding of what is important to each community in Chilton County. But above all, the citizens being informed is the utmost important, and these next few months will continue to enlighten citizens of the events going on in their small slice of Alabama. I am proud I get the opportunity to tell those tales.
