Chilton County and Billingsley high schools were the only local softball teams with games this week as rain canceled action on April 3. Jemison, Isabella, Thorsby, Verbena and Maplesville high schools all had their games canceled on April 3 and will be made up at a later date.

Chilton County High School

The Tigers played two games over spring break and suffered losses in both. On March 30, CCHS fell 15-2 to Marbury High School after tying the game at one in the second inning on a Chloe Shiers sacrifice fly. Marbury scored 14 runs from the third to fifth inning to end the game early in five innings. Macey Pierce was 2-for-3 with two doubles, and Emma Penley matched her with a 2-for-3 effort with two doubles as well. Mallie Harrison and Shiers each had an RBI.

CCHS took the field the next day on the road at Holtville High School and lost 4-3. The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth inning when CCHS scored three runs via a Penley RBI single and a Shiers two-RBI single.

Holtville scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game, and took the win with a run in the sixth inning. Holtville outhit the Tigers 11-5, but Shiers was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Maecie Driskell, Penley, Harrison and Pierce each had a single.

Billingsley High School

The Bears handled Autaugaville High School on March 30 sweeping the doubleheader over their AHSAA Class 1A Area 6 rivals. Billingsley won game one 20-7, and took game two 18-3 to get back to .500 in area play.
