The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce and the Merchants Association of Chilton County are putting on the Eggcellent Eggspedition in celebration of Easter weekend. From April 7-8, over 30 businesses across Chilton County will hide eggs throughout their store for customers to search for. Each egg will contain something unique to the business such as prizes, discounts or special giveaways.

Maymay Helms, owner of Maymay Made It in Clanton, discussed wanting to have an Easter egg hunt through the merchants they have. They reached out, and the response was huge.

“We got with them and said ‘Hey, can we make it happen?’” Helms said. “Over 30 agreed to do it, and it should be a pretty fun event.”

Aside from the other Easter eggs, each business will hide a golden egg in their store which contains a grand prize. Some businesses will hide eggs on both days, and some will only be hiding eggs on one or the days.

“We are excited for the residents to come out and participate in this county-wide event,” Helms said.

The Easter egg hunt will last as long as the business is open for that day.
