Quarter-sized to three-inch diameter hail has already been reported in Thorsby and Verbena, respectively, from a line of storms making its way across Central Alabama today.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a tornado watch until noon for the entire region. Residents are encouraged to have multiple ways to receive weather information. Have a plan in place to get to a safe area should a tornado warning be issued. Those in trailer homes or second-floor apartments should seek shelter in one of the county’s storm shelters.
