Ousley takes home top discus throw for CCHS

Chilton County High School track team competed against 23 other schools at the Paul W. Bryant Invitational at Paul W. Bryant High School in Cottondale on March 3. The Tigers had multiple athletes compete in both track and field events.

Junior thrower Hunter Ousley took home first place in the men’s discus throw with a toss of 125-01. Ousley outlasted 80 other throwers in the event.

Freshman Marcus Coleman finished fourth out of 77 throwers in the men’s shot put event with a throw of 40-02.

In the men’s 100-meter dash, sophomore Nishun Laister finished 16th out of 154 runners with a 11.641 time. Junior DreShaun Binion finished on spot behind in 17th with a time of 11.645.

Eighth grader Jayce Parker finished ninth out of 92 runners in the women’s 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05. Sophomore Justin Godwin placed 17th out of 142 runners in the men’s 400-meter dash with a time of 56.9.

The Tigers women’s 4×100 relay team finished in fourth place with a time of 52.79.
