Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

It is always interesting to see which stories we write in a week get the most notice and attention on our website and social media.

Sometimes I write a story, and I know it will be well read. Other times, I have my doubts.

One thing that I have noticed is Chilton County is quick to celebrate with those who have reached new milestones. Whether it is a local athlete having a successful season or a community member receiving an award, readers are quick to like, love or post their congratulations when links to these stories are posted on our Facebook.

Reporters can get a reputation for only reporting the bad news. I am glad that is not our reputation in Chilton County as we are able to highlight the good news of accomplishments and highlights of community members. For me, this usually has been students and teachers who have won an award or been chosen for a special event.

I have written about some professional accomplishments of city employees recently. It is evident that they are glad to reach the milestone and that the work paid off.  I enjoy getting to interview people about what it took to reach milestones and why they wanted to pursue them. Perhaps by reading about what these community members have accomplished, others will be inspired to go for the next level professionally or personally.

Excitement is contagious when interviewing someone who is excited. It is a moment where you can share in their happiness, and hopefully, share that experience with those that read the story.

If you have a recent accomplishment you would like to share with the community, let me know about it at news@clantonadvertiser.com.
