Exit Royal Realty in Clanton is hosting a Wrap-A-Thon for local residents needing their gifts for the Christmas season wrapped. The event is benefitting Care Net of Chilton County through donations made by those bringing their gifts to be wrapped. Donations start at $5 and can exceed any amount that people making it feel necessary.
“We were trying to do something for the holidays to serve our community, and also serve a good organization,” Amber Ray, director of operations at Exit Royal Realty, said.
A realtor at Exit Royal Realty had a personal connection to Care Net and wanted to create an event to give back to the nonprofit. Another realtor at Exit had previously done a similar event with another company. Exit Royal Realty liked the idea and ran with it to create their 2022 Wrap-A-Thon.
Gifts can be dropped off at the Exit office at 618 2nd Avenue North, Clanton on any day. Exit provides stickers, large bags and labels to wrap the gifts and keep them organized. Those wanting to use a specific wrapping paper may bring it along with their gifts to be wrapped, and Exit will use that paper.
“We are just doing this to serve the community, love on people, and let them know we are here,” Ray said. “Christmas time is always a time to serve even more and let people know we are here. It is a really good time to let people know that we care about them. We love our community.”
Exit Royal Realty has already hosted four Wrap-A-Thon events throughout November and December and has two more planned before Christmas. Dec. 12 from 3-7 p.m. and Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. are the last two dates for the Wrap-A-Thon where people can bring their gifts in to be wrapped and stay until they are done. Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. is when the Wrap-A-Thon will end for the Christmas season.
Ray said it has been slow so far but hopes the last two dates will be busy with people securing more gifts the closer Christmas Day gets.
“Next week being the last week before Christmas, we are hoping people will start coming in more,” Ray said. “We are hoping Saturday is a big day because people will already have their gifts and are out and about and want to come in.”
