The Thorsby City Council held a short meeting on June 6 that was centered on a possible new mural on the building beside the flag court at the corner of Rebel Street and Minnesota Avenue. Mayor Robert Hight was not at the meeting.

The council was presented with three different designs. All three have the words “Welcome to Thorsby” on it with peaches and strawberries throughout the design.

A full mural would be 510 square feet and a half mural would be 255 square feet. Council members discussed other elements they would like to see on the mural such as a more Scandinavian theme that touches on the city’s roots. The topic was tabled to another meeting to allow the designers to take in the other ideas for more options.
