Argument escalates to shots fired

The Clanton Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on April 10 around 5 p.m. in the 1200 block of First Avenue North in Clanton.
CPD and the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
“All we know at this point is that it stemmed from an argument between two individuals,” CPD Lt. Cameron Bates said.
Bates said the victim was shot multiple times with one of the wounds being to the head.
The victim had life threatening injuries and was transported to UAB Hospital via helicopter.
Bates said the person was still in critical condition on April 11.
A suspect has been identified, but police are still investigating the case.
