Mark Twain once said, “Kindness is a language the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”
My vision this year for the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce is to embrace and spread kindness. Chamber members, elected officials, tourists, employees, and anyone who contacts the Chilton Chamber deserves to be blessed by kindness this year. Acts of kindness can be hard, and you must think before you act. Placing others first requires a lot of stamina and inner strength. However, the investment of kindness usually has long lasting dividends. Some people mistake kindness for weakness. However, President Roosevelt said, “Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people.”
As we go through this year, I would like for you to share your stories of kindness with us. It may be a story of an employee’s kindness, a stranger’s kindness, or your own example of kindness. Help us recognize the kind folks that make our daily lives better. Your Chamber will help spread your stories and that will help us all to see the power of kindness and begin to embrace acts of kindness as business investments!
Your Chilton County Chamber of Commerce is leading many promotions and events to help our members and communities grow as we continue to come out of the pandemic. Preparations are being made to host the 2022 Peach Jam, a community event that brings thousands to our small towns and cities to experience all the kindness that Chilton County has to offer.
I want to encourage you to consider joining in our endeavor to spread kindness through our communities by joining your local Chamber as a member or volunteer.
It will take all of us showing kindness to each other to reach the goals that can only be reached together!
