The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles has denied parole for Francisco Bautista Mora and Simmie Lee Posey Jr. in recent hearings.

Mora is serving seven year in in prison for sexual abuse from a 2020 sentencing.

A representative from the Victims of Crimes and Leniency nonprofit and the Attorney General’s office both spoke in support of the denial during the hearing, according the board’s Jan. 26 minutes.

Posey was sentenced to eight years in prison for Assault II in 2019 and had been sentenced to 2 years in 2018 for possession/ receiving a controlled substance.
