School board approves 10 new teachers

The Chilton County Board of Education approved several new employees, including 10 teachers, during its Dec. 14 meeting.

Teachers approved included four for Clanton Elementary School, one for Clanton Intermediate School, one for Clanton Middle School, one for Verbena High School and one for Maplesville High School.

A certified employee was also hired as a Psychometrist II for the school system.

There were four classified employees approved, including a nurse for Thorsby High School, two bus drivers and a custodian for Maplesville High.

Two resignations were accepted at the meeting including teacher Norman Staggs from Verbena High and Child Nutrition employee Suzanne Giles from Isabella High.

Seven substitutes and seven leave requests were also approved.
